Yesterday it finally hit me..I’m getting older. Now, I don’t want to admit that or do I “feel” older, but seeing the kids I watched growing up now becoming young adults right before my eyes, I knew it was happening. Having a son in High School sports right now and very active, I have been around the great people of Wilsonville and on all sides of athletics.
Last year I was shooting a lot of sports photography for the Wilsonville Spokesman and Canby Herald, and this year slowed down on that as I’m shooting a bunch of other projects. However, the moment I know it’s “Friday Night Lights” and Homecoming the Canon comes out!
Homecoming is special in all schools and I got the call from a parent (and ended up doing it for more) to attending the assembly and shoot some of the Homecoming Court since some parents couldn’t be there. I dropped whatever I was doing and obliged. I was lucky enough to photography the beautiful Princess Brianna, whom I’ve know for years through our families. As luck would have it, her Price, Ryan, I’ve watched grow up with my son as they both played sports together since the third grade.
It was a fun time photographing them in the dimly lit gymnasium, then later going home to edit, process, and print so I could take them to the game on Friday. After passing out packets of photo’s from earlier, I shot Brianna, and other kids I knew through the years of attending events. It’s a great community to raise a family and the people are very special. Here are some of the pics from the events.
