We had never met Danny or Crystal before they booked us for their wedding, but we did know her father Ted.  He put us in touch with one another and we all hit it off like we had known each other for years.  Their choice of locations was in Hood River, where her family had grown up.  What a beautiful location up the Gorge of the Columbia River and they had a great chance the weather was going to be awesome, which it was.  Crystal was in a beautiful wedding dress from Charlotte’s Weddings and More and her hair beautifully done by Teresa Davis.

The ceremony was overlooking the Columbia River with a slight breeze to help cool their guests from the hot sun.  After the ceremony was complete, they shared a beer in typical Crystal and Danny fashion, and headed for the reception area when the party was headed up by Chris of Muchmore County who was a phenomenal DJ.  The cake was done by Carol of Palate Pleasers and was outstanding if I do say so myself.

We had a blast and were so honored to be a part of capturing their day.

From the moment she walked away from meeting him, sharing laughs and life together that first day she uttered the words to her mother, “I just met the man I’m going to marry someday.”  That day came true for Micah and Kayla just a couple months ago.

On a rainy day in the mountains of a beautiful Mt. Hood, Oregon wedding venue, they vowed to love each other for the rest of their lives.  Surrounded by their closest friends and family, and tucked away at a beautiful golf and spa resort eloquently named, “The Resort at the Mountain,” Micah & Kayla shared their special day with us.  What made that day extra special in our eyes?  Well that’s easy…Kayla is our daughter.

When she asked her mother to be the wedding planner, and me to photograph the wedding we felt deeply honored.  Since I had to walk her down the isle, I felt I had my job cut out for me that day and even told her I knew of some other fabulous photographers I could hire to do it.  She said with those beautiful blue eyes, “You’re my dad, and I want YOU to do it.”  My heart melted and I told them of course I would.  Of course being the professional I am, I hired a awesome second shooter, which put me at ease that someone had my back.

They shared it on the 19th hole overlooking the golf course and it was beautiful.  I know what you’re asking, “Didn’t everyone get wet?”  Well they would have had Barclay Event Rentals not come out that morning and saved the day by erecting their largest open sided tent to protect everyone.  You guys rock!

Tonya, worked closely with Becca Kolibaba and Tami Kay,  and  with the help of Micah’s family, friends, and relatives, they were able to present a beautiful wedding.  How was the venue you ask?  Well, the entire staff at the Resort bent over backwards for our family and made the day very special.  Thanks everyone!
